4.       What are four tips that make any speech exceptional? Have passion, Be confident, Vary expressions, Leave them loving it.

6.       Business is a place to not only make our lives easier, but also to make our world a better place.
7.       Seek out local entrepreneurs and ask to observe them on a typical business day.  Ask the entrepreneur to share their insights into what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur.
8.       Budding entrepreneurs can now find a many opportunities to showcase their ideas all in one place – istart is a web-based platform
9.       In the United States alone, more than 50 universities conduct business plan competitions annually awarding up to 10 million dollars in prizes and in-kind services.

12.   What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs in DECA?  Don’t be discouraged when obstacles appear.

13.   Learning about entrepreneurship helps improve your chances of Success.

14. According to Dr. Jeff Cornwall ,  Entrepreneurship is not learned through memorization and test taking but through application and practice.

15.   Summarize each of the ten (10) points Arthi Vellore shared in regard to being an international  DECA champion-

a.        be calm, professional, and enthusiastic at DECA Competitions.
b.       In a role-play, quickly skim it, think about objectives, giving your own creative twist, match parts of role-play to performance indicators, elaborate on key points.
c.        Secret to success @ competitions: make an outline for your role-play.
d.       Be professional, yet accessible and personal in your vocabulary.
e.       be friendly, make eye contatce, give a firm handshake, and dress well-sutied to your event.
f.         find creative ways to promote something, or solve the issue at hand in your role-play. (think outside the box)
g.        To build confidence, and overcome stress: Make a plan of attack.
h.       DECA Prepares you to think quickly on your feet, be confidant, present fresh, innovative ideas, balance personality and proffessionalism, and learn words/terms that really are applicable to the business world.  
i.         Do's: Be professional, early, dressed well, present yoursledf well, be confidant, enjoy your competition. Don't: Overanalyze, stress out, be outrageous.
j.         most important thing to know: try not to overthink or try too hard.

16.    What are 5 tips for dominating the DECA cluster exams?
a.        Double-check to make sure pages are correctly numbered/match table of contents
b.       make sure the report follows sequence  outlined in guidlines
c.        Keep report page count within guidlines
d.       use the DECA Checklist to check yourself
e.       make sure the statement of assurances is signed by all participants and the supervisor

17.   Earn your share of $300,000 in scholarships from DECA’s corporate partners.

18.   What are the four (4) myths about college?   Summarize each
a.        "There's No way I cna afford four years of college on my own." Through grants, loans, scholarships, and wrok study programs, you cna find ways to make it affordable.
b.       "Sitting in a lecture everyday won;t give me hands on, real world experience that i need." There are internships out there.
c.        "My DECA days are over now that I'm in college." DECA has Collegiate DECA in many colleges.
d.       "Between Classes, Homework, Collegiate DECA, a job-i'll have a life in college!" YOu'll make friends in your dorms, on campus, in classes, and surround yourself with acitivties.

19.   The 2011 DECA International Career Development Conference is the biggest springboard of the DECA year for you to jump start your career and prepare for college.  Expand you network by joining more than 15,000 Deca members in Orlando, Fla. from April 30 – May 3.

Bored???

I am so tired.... but i cannot wait for Halloween!!!!!!! I wonder what I'll dress up as... Maybe the same as last year- An egyptian. Yay.
I read an exceptionally excellent book this week- Sovay By Celia Rees. Great Book. I totally recommend reading it.
